The water well drilling process

Step 1

Talk with us and walk the property

We start with a conversation about your property, what you need the well to support, and what you've already looked into. Then we meet you at the property to see the site firsthand.

Step 2

Project plan and estimate

Based on your property, we put together a plan and a real estimate โ€” the scope, what we're delivering, and the timeline to expect.

Step 3

Permits handled for you

Our team takes care of the paperwork and coordination. You won't need to chase forms or agencies โ€” that's our job, and it's included in your project.

Step 4

Drilling

Our rig and crew come out to your property and drill the borehole to the depth your property calls for. The day-to-day decisions that go into a successful well happen on our end โ€” you get a finished well you can count on.

Step 5

Finish out and hand off

When the well is drilled and the site is cleaned up, we walk you through what was done and the paperwork. At that point your project is complete and ready for the next steps on your property.

Process questions, answered

What are the initial steps for planning a new water well?
The first steps are a conversation about your property and what you need the well to do, a review of the site, and getting the paperwork in order. Once we understand your project, we plan the approach that's right for your specific parcel โ€” depth, location on the property, and the equipment the finished well will need.
How deep do water wells go?
Depth varies widely depending on where you are and what the property needs. A well in one part of the Antelope Valley can be meaningfully different from a well in the High Desert or the Santa Clarita Valley. We plan your well's depth based on what your specific property calls for.
How does a water well drilling rig work?
A drilling rig is purpose-built equipment that cuts a borehole down to water-bearing ground, with steel casing installed as it goes. That's the part the client sees. How we run the rig โ€” the equipment decisions, the adjustments we make as we go โ€” is our job to handle, and it's part of what you're hiring us for.
How deep do wells have to be to produce water?
It varies by property. Some properties hit dependable water at modest depths; others require going considerably deeper. That's why we plan every well based on the specific parcel rather than a standard depth.
Do I need to be on-site during drilling?
You don't need to be on-site the whole time, but we do want to meet with you up front to walk the property and confirm the plan. Once the project is underway, we keep you informed of progress.
What happens after the well is drilled?
Once the borehole is complete and cased, we finish out the work, clean up the site, and walk you through the paperwork so your project is ready to hand off.
